How Do You Boost Your Personal Growth?

Often, you might find yourself comparing yourself to other people. You can’t help but think how much better someone else is than you. However, you had it wrong! Yes, it’s great that you feel the need to compare yourself because that means you want to grow as a person. What you must understand is you are your own unique person, as is every other person on the planet. So, how could you possibly compare yourself and your uniqueness with someone else's? You can’t!

That’s why the whole thought process leaves you often sad and disappointed - because you notice that you can’t live up to someone else. And you shouldn’t be living up to someone else. You should instead focus on how you can grow, and become a better you each day. To help you work on your personal growth and development journey, today I will be sharing some of my favorite and most helpful tips on how to constantly work and improve yourself. Keep reading below to learn how you can improve your personal growth.

Discover What You Need To Work On

The best way to improve your self-growth is to take a step back and analyze yourself. Before you take any further steps forward, you have to first figure out where you stand. Figure out where you are at this very moment, how much is weighing you down, and most importantly – understand in which direction you are heading and the direction you want to be heading in. I know from personal experience that it’s very easy to get lost on your way and lose sight of the bigger picture. Which is why I suggest you take a good look at yourself through self-assessment. Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

- Are you overworking yourself? Or are you rather prone to procrastinating and laziness?
- Do you often experience stress, anxiety or depression?
- What are your worst fears in life?
- What were your dreams when you were younger?
- What are your goals in life?
- Do you know yourself well enough?

I suggest that you take some time off your day, sit down and go through these questions. Write down your answers. You will notice that as you answer them, a lot of things will become much clearer to you. You might notice that you have made much more progress than you gave yourself credit for, or maybe even though you are headed in the right direction you are simply carrying too much baggage from the past with you. This step is very important because it will unveil your false perceptions about your current reality, allowing you to see the bigger picture and appreciate your progress. It will also show you what you need to work more on, thus showing you the path to personal growth and development.

Make Space for New, Better Habits

Now that you have a general idea of your plan and you are aware of any possible issues and bad habits that have been holding you back on your self-development journey, it’s time to act. Being stuck in the same old pattern of bad habits is a big setback. To help you make space for new better habits, I suggest that you do the following exercise:

Take a pen, a piece of paper and two random colored markers. Then, make two lists, each list next to the other. List down all of your bad habits on one side, and all of the better habits that you want to implement into your life. Then, take a look on the list with bad habits. Which of these would be the hardest to abandon? Mark them with a color of your choice. Then take a look at the list of good habits, and ask yourself, which of these would be the hardest to stick to? Mark them down with the same color. Then, think about which habits are the easiest to abandon, and which would be easiest to implement in your life. Now mark those with the other colored marker. Everything that stays unmarked, consider is as a habit that is neither easy nor hard for you. Then, choose one habit from the list of easy bad habits to abandon on the list, and choose one easy good habit to implement from the other list. Then in the following month, try to replace the bad habit with a good habit. Try to go through all of the habits on the list, one by one, from easiest to hardest. Don’t start working on a new pair of habits, until you feel like you have completely abandoned the first bad habit, and completely implemented the new good habit as a part of your everyday life, even if it takes longer than a month. It’s important to not overwhelm yourself with too many habits at once because it’s much easier to give up when you feel like you have taken on a bigger bite than what you can chew.

It’s not easy to change your mindset, so if you run into any issues for adapting to the new habits in your life, you can always use a Natural Chrysocolla Malachite Lotus Mala to help you ease into your new routines. Natural Chrysocolla Malachite is known as a stone for transformation, allowing you to more easily break harmful habits and patterns from the past, and adapt new, positive habits.

Measure Your Progress

To become more aware of your progress, make sure you take some time every day to reflect on how you spent your time. Try to measure how far along you have come since you did the self-assessment. It’s very important to analyze what you did right, what you did wrong, and how you could improve. This not only shows you how much progress you have made, but also what more you could learn from yourself, and your actions.

Read More Books

Speaking of learning, learning is one of the most important parts when you are trying to work on your personal growth. The more you learn, the better understanding you have. The more you understand, the more you improve. Which is why you should always strive to learn more in life. Even one fact a day can make a huge difference! Here are a few ways to constantly learn:

- Read more books
- Install a learning app on your phone
- Sign up for an online course
- Learn a new language

Remember, the only comparison that you should be making in the future is between who you were, who you are, and who you want to become. Because that’s the only relevant way to measure yourself up on the right scale. Although it might be a strange concept to adapt, over time you will see that such a mindset is the most realistic and helpful one for your personal growth journey.
